Photographer’s Note
Somewhere back on my gallery there was the first try of playing with the shadows. At that time I took the shot in Sintra on the road that goes to 'Quinta da Regaleira'.
This one was taken in Seixal, at 'Quinta da Fidalga', a place owned by the district with a beautiful ancient house surrounded by wonderful gardens.
The end of the afternoon made the tree's shadows very long against the walls and I profited that to get this shot, just as if the shadows were trying to get on the girl in the photo.
Hope you enjoy it.
I profit the occasion to invite you to take a look at a small personal website I'm developing, you can see it: here
I'm still developing it so any fail or lack on the construction might occure.

Hi Paulo, congratulations, the site is looking good - the B&W shots look especially good! As does this shot. The long slanting shadows add a very sinister atmosphere - almost seeming to overpower the girl.
Nice job - Roberto

Bonjour Paulo,

Strong image, I like this a lot. The diagonal, the long shadows, the mysterios silhouette, the rather dramatic feeling that comes out of it. Beautiful light with strong contrast. Lots of mood. Good work, I am going to go through you gallery very soon.

Very good B&W photo with great shadows and strong contrast, something spooky going on here as well, the silhouette of a girl - it's like You've captured a ghost here, brrrr... gives me chills, I like it!

ola paulo,
i think that as a standalone photo this image is kind of hard to classify as "standing out" but after visiting your "small web page" i think that today's photo fits your b/w concept and as such is much enjoyable...

Hi Paulo,
I like it very much...for the moment with the lonely walking girl and the amazing play with light and shadows.Somehow the shadows on the wall show us the direction of the form in the image...the direction of the girl.Very well captured for sure!
have a nice and creative week,
Thomas
ps.I like the projects in your webpage very much, especially the empty spaces. The people are disappear but their sign is still there..

;-) iria beneficiar a imagem.

Bonne semaine

Hi Paulo!
Indeed a "haunted" but excellent atmosphere in this poetic photo! Great diagonal perspective, perfect choice of b&w, great dark light managment and great shadows and textures! Congratulations!

Ola Paulo,
I admire so much the mood you captured by playing with light and shade here. Many photographers don't like to have so much darkness in their photos, but i like the mysterious atmosphere such an application grants me. I especially like the real tree at the corner, and the shade of the tree on the wall. The windows are balancing the compo, and the essential ghost is at the right place. Congrats, and i would say, try more of this kind of photos....
Cheers,
Deniz
