A try on High Key with this burned boat which lyies at the margin of Seixal's Bay.
This boat had some history and was tied to the margins waited for some repairs when some idiots came by and put fire to it, some years ago.
Now the boat is slowly giving up to the strenght of nature's elements until someday it completely disappears...

I like this experiment in high key. Great how the wooden textures of the boat stand out against the white.

Is it still a photograph
good idea and execution...

This one realy shines just like a jewelstone among the mostly repetitive and boring photos on this platform. A great experimental shot, very creative and touching with the story behind. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes,

a very well done high key, where I like the simplicity of the subject. The boat seems to go outside the picture.Excellent!

Nice and creative. Creativity which is needed here. The use of overexposure was the right choice, it enhances the texture of the wood. Like in a dream indeed ... Waiting more of this kind :-)

Hmmm, 14 critiques for such a daring one, with high keys and no colors! I am impressed :)
One of the best boat portraits i've recently seen. Monumental, i would say.
All the best,

Ola dear Paolo
An interesting and original post processing of this wonderful old boat. I like it alot, although would love to see what it really looks like in normal colour (perhaps as a Workshop)? Excellent textures and definition: it looks almost three dimensional. Nice work.

The high key treatment gives a strong impression to this image...Am surprised as much as Rigo, but then I guess different people have different prefernces. Thw strong focus on the boat is a strong point. Fine work my friend...am glad you're posting regularly again & apologies for not visiting earlier

Hello Paulo - I'm quite a fan of high key work and here you have chosen a great subject for your creativity. Composition is great and there are some lovely textures in the shot, on my screen the shot looks a little soft and I would try and sharpen the image a little more. I would also try and bring back a little definition on the margin where the high prow of the boat projects against the sky. Warm regards and what a pleasure to see someone pushing the boundaries on this site. Rosemary
PS Lovely WS too!
