Photographer’s Note

This simple photo just to wish you all a Happy New Year and let's hope that 2009 can be a better year than this one that is finishing which certainly hasn't been the best or the most happier of years.

For the world I wish (bit difficult but I wish) that someone, somehow can illuminate the heads of those who make wars and terrorism and makes them think that maybe this is not the best way of dealing with problems and differences among the us.

That finally some of the powerfull remembers that Earth belongs to all of us and not only few rich and powerfull, and they remember about the environmental problems THEY have created and THEY must deal with.

That finally someone remembers of those who still are dying as result of poverty and unger all around the globe, not only in Africa, Asia, or Latin American countries but also here in Europe and North America.

Now for our beloved site TE:

I'm not too active these last days but when I come to the site and see the news it seems that only bad news are welcome here...
And the list is quite extensive, photos removed by any reasons (valuable or not this is no longer a problem), members banned (new feature... and what a good one) because of some crisped conversations, some members who seem to just have joined to the site to insult or provoke others (not only on TE but also on TL and TN),
some of the most older members moving away as they cannot find any joy or thrill with it anymore.

My questions are: Is this site the same I joined almost 3 years ago? what has happened with it? Will it last until next year?

Word is now with the owners and it's up to them to bring motivation up to the site again and make their members want to spend some of their time here... or not...

From my side I will keep coming from time to time but certainly motivation is degrading every week as certainly this is not the site I joined filled with joy, with members motivated to critique usefuly the others photos, making remarks, workshops, uploading photos every day even when time was very short (just for the joy of participating).

My best whishes to all of you MOD's and members.

Bom dia Paulo, que grande nota para finalizar o ano. Nada entusiasmante diga-se de passagem. Acho que estou a dar todo o gás até o motor partir para esconder a minha falta de entusiasmo que de facto já não é a mesma de outros tempos. Penso muitas vezes em desistir mas lá vou levando a coisa para a frente.
A foto? Fantástica pelo céu e resultante luz que apanhaste. O efeito de cortina das nuvens é espectacular e a composição de diagonais está muito bem feita. Basicamente é um < interrompido pelos edifícios a viver na zona da noite. Impressionante como a linha das nuvens coincide exactamente com a esquina do telhado mais à direita.
Um grande abraço e os desejos de um grande 2009 para ti e a Teresa.

Uma fotografia muito atraente e bela!
Gosto muito desse tipo de céu (hoje de manhã aqui estava assim!) e seu registro foi muito bem feito, com todas essas cores e luminosidade! A composição também foi muito bem elaborada resultando nessa imagem agradável, rica de detalhes interessantes (arquitetura, barcos)!

Fica bem assim o Seixal, com esta luz baixa e um céu cheio de nuvens bonitas. Gosto muito.
Quanto ao desabafo, pois concordo contigo e por vezes também penso em desistir. Mas, já fiz muitos amigos e não seria simpático deixá-los cair a todos (e tu incluído).

Beautiful shot against light. Like the patterns created by the clouds in the sky...beautiful! The shoreline, the houses & the road, all seemingly merge at the centre of the picture. The boat in the FG just before the shimmering sun makes a good focal point. Good work my friend!
