Magnificent 7, a photo from Setubal, South

Photographer's Note

This 7 element articulated kite was captured on the atlantic beach of Costa de Caparica, in the 'outra banda' region, the southern bank of the river Tejo estuary. Caparica is one of Portugal's best beaches - it's very long and sandy, the strong waves are almost always there and there are all kinds of sports facilities and a number of very fine beach cafe's.

It was captured during a day we spend with our dear Portuguese friends Manuela and Ana. We explored Barreiro, Almada & Caparica with them as guides. It was a delightful experience.

This is also another return to TE :-) I'll be posting a series about Portuguese leisure culture the upcoming weeks.

i'm glad to see you again in the site with this beautiful and colourful articulated kites on the air.Really the view and the experience of the sight of the 'Magnificent 7' would was unique.

I've seen this a little move about the kits. Very impressive , wonderfully executed from fabulous POV with fantastic moment. Perfect captured, I really love is an amazing. great to see you back, its been awhile.
As i scrolled the screen up and down, what i notices almost right away is the variance of blues/purples from top to bottom - very attractive colors.
Its not too often we get to see abstract Kite photos, but here we have one.
its also nice to see the wings of the kite get larger as we pan upwards.
nice photo.

Ik heb het filmpje bekeken op You Tube en dit is zeker niet slecht.
Zeer mooie symetrie foto en tevens zeer kleurrijk.
ik ben benieuwd wat u in de toekomst zal laten zien uit Portugal.
Scherpte is hier zeker aanwezig, mooi gedaan.

Prettige dag verder uit een halfbewolkt Maldegem met 19.9° C, maar de buien zijn niet ver weg.

Hi Bert, There are some very interesting photos on your sight & this is another with vibrant colours through-out, the background with that wonderful blue sky is gorgeous, not to sure about the crop but still very nice, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Bert,

A splendid shot. You have really captured this kite in an excellent way. Backlight is definitively the best option when taking photos of kites and the vertical format is also a perfect choice. It is also a graphically appealing photo. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Hello Bert,

You do have a fine eye for line and composition; the repetition of the shapes encourages the viewer to move up your photograph like walking up colourful steps.
Pin sharp details and lovely saturation.
