Hi dear TE friends,

The second picture from my trip to Barreiro.

Another view from Barreiro harbour. I was there at lunch time. The fishermen are resting with family.
Small boats and houses but very nice.

Barreiro is a municipality and city in Portugal with a total area of 32.0 km² and a total population of 79,047 inhabitants.
The municipality is composed of 8 parishes (freguesias), and is located in the district of Setúbal. We can see the Barreiro city from Lisbon.

Transports between two sides of the Tagus River.
Lisbon`s public transport network is extremely far-reaching and reliable and has its Metro as its main artery, connecting the city centre with the upper and eastern districts. Ambitious expansion projects will increase the network by almost one third, connecting the airport, and the northern and western districts. Bus, funicular and tram services have been supplied by the Companhia de Carris de Ferro de Lisboa (Carris), for over a century.
A traditional public transport in Lisbon is the tram. Originally introduced in the 19th century, the trams were originally imported from the U.S. and called americanos. The original trams can still be seen in the Museu da Carris (the Public Transport Museum) (Carris)
There are four suburban lines departing from Lisbon: the Cascais, Sintra and Azambuja lines as well as a fourth line to Setúbal crossing the Tagus river over the 25 de Abril Bridge.
The city is connected to the far side of the Tagus by two important bridges:
• The 25 de Abril Bridge, inaugurated (as Ponte Salazar) August 6 1966, and later renamed after the date of the Carnation Revolution, was the longest suspension bridge in Europe and although made by the same engineers as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, it is not, as thought by some, a replica (the Golden Gate Bridge does not have X braces).
• The Vasco da Gama Bridge, inaugurated May 1998 is, at 17.2 km, the longest bridge in Europe.

Hello Aires. Aside from the overexposed clouds this is a nice picture.
The colours and details are excellent. The scene is very calm and interesting.

Olá Aires,
colourful arrangement of boats and huts. The water line in a curve is lovely and the capture goes deep in the end by soft disappearing sharpness. Nice daily life one.

Bom dia Aires, é de facto interessante como esta cena está tão próxima do(s) centro(s) urbanos, pois parece um lugarejo perdido no tempo. Aqui no atelier já se fizeram vários estudos de reconversão da zona industrial do Barreiro, mas o processo é demasiado burocrático para se conseguir passar à prática. Boa composição e controle da luminosidade que não parecia estar fácil.

p.s.- tenho a confirmação de uma colega do Barreiro que aqueles arcos da tua foto anterior, são moinhos de maré que já não estão em actividade, obviamente. Esta zona chama-se Alburrica.

Superb and picturesque compo, those small houses and the blue and white boats from the FG, the green water with the texture of those water plants, the houses of the BG and that very nice sky, not decided if to be cloudy or sunny....

Excelente foto.. gosto muito do tom das cores.
Partilho da mesma opinião do António Ribeiro, à primeira vista parece noutro sitio, África ou Ásia, mas nunca no Barreiro.
Nota também para o céu que tem a luminosidade suficiente para equilibrar a foto nesse ponto.

Mais uma ótima captura, mostrando um belo céu e um assunto de que gosto muito: barcos! Ainda mais barcos pescadores, simples e coloridos. Lindos! O enquadramento é muito bom, com a câmera ligeiramente voltada para baixo, o que nos mostra ótima profundidade. Muito bom!

Uma linda foto, muito, mesmo muito bem composta. A aparente desordem dos barcos é afinal muito elegante e aquela silhueta da árvore seca fica a matar. A luz não parece nada fácil, mas apesar das nuvens estarem ligeiramente OE, está muito bem controlada.
