Postcard from Alcochete #2, a photo from Setubal, South

Photographer's Note

Second picture of "Postcards from Alcochete". You can see the first one here. Since this it's my hometown i will try to show it to the world the best i can.

Alcochete is located on the south bank of the River Tagus, near the Tagus Estuary Nature Reserve. Salt has long-been one of the main industries here, and saltpans can still be seen to the north and south of the town.
The town's foundation dates back to the 7th century, after the Moors conquered Lisbon. Its name derives from the Arabic word for kiln, as there have been many found in the area.

This picture was taken from the maritime pontoon and you also can see the Igreja da Misericórdia (Church of Mercy), founded in mid 16th century and was part of the Palace where King Manuel I was born. Today it houses the Museum of Sacred Art. It has an interesting 1582 - 83 altarpiece and a Flag of Sisterhood, the oldest known in Portugal.

que calma maravilhosa transmite esta sua foto. Gosto imenso da agua tao linda com bonitos reflexos. O passsaro esta muito giro. uma linda composicao com lindas diagonais

Great Work Antonio,
here there is a very clever square empty area wich gives a great quality to the composition, and also the bridge and the foreground geometricaly framing it.
Of course and this is not of less importance a beautiful well shown place.

Não conheço Alcochete, mas com esta imagem fico a gostar desta terra simpática.
Cores e definição muito boas. Os bons reflexos dão mais beleza à composição.

Antonio this is a real postcard indeed! I think its the bridge on the right that makes this very inviting to see. good work and I hopt you can sell this for the city. A good photo !

I love your composition to almost frame the image with the inverted L of the bridge and walls. It looks like a beautiful town. I like the reflections and shadows seen in the water.

Hi Antonio,
A well composed shot of this lovely town. I like the gentle ripples on the smooth water and the reflections. The pier on the right very much balances the scene and its shadow and bluish hue in the water enhance. Very well seen and captured.

Es una foto muy bien captada, con una perspectiva desde el puente magnifica.
Muy buenos colores y excelente foco.
El reflejo sobre el rio quedo muy bien. Tiene muy buenos detalles como el seagull solitario.

Na realidade é um outro Postcard de Alcochete e de muita qualidade. Óptimo angulo e perspectiva em "L". Excelente enquadramento do cenário na regra precisa. Boas cores, luz, ceu bonita e uma gaivota no pontão.

Muito bem visto e realizado para composição.
Um bom Postcard de qualidade da sua terra natal.

Nice perspective given by the pier which takes us towards teh village. beauitiful contrast of the red roofs with the blue prevailing int he picture.
