The Chapel of Our Lady of Conception is in Tomar, in the parish of St. John the Baptist, at the top of a small elevation near the hill of the Castle and Convent of Christ. This temple, one of the most pure examples of Renaissance style in Portugal, was built to serve as a royal pantheon to D. João III, which is not turned out. It is a National Monument since 1910.

Hello Paulo, I was there a few months ago and really enjoyed the view of Tomar just in front of this lovely chapel. Your photo is wonderful with the tree branches in the foreground and two other accompanying trees nearby. The sky and cobble-stoned ground seem amazing.

I do prefer the natural version in the WS though.

This is a nicely composed shot using the colorful trees to frame the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. THe off center positioning of the church works well giving the shot a nice sense of direction.

Olá Paulo,
Cada vez aprecio mais estas igrejinhas (ou outros pequenos monumentos mais ou menos desprezados), em vez das listas de 7 maravilhas disto e daquilo.
Quanto à foto, está muito bem. Gostaria de ver a árvore à direita completa, mas não é muito importante.

Olá!
Estive aí, talvez há vinte anos! Está muito bonita. Gosto da igrejita rodeada pelas árvores e as cores estão óptimas. Gosto das que estão em Ws, mas acho que esta é mesmo a minha preferida.

This is a lovely little church in the middle of the countryside it seems! I love the gold colour against the dramatic cloudy blue sky!
