Photographer’s Note
Originally designed as a monument symbolizing the Reconquest, the Convent of the Knights Templar of Tomar (transferred in 1344 to the Knights of the Order of Christ) came to symbolize just the opposite during the Manueline period – the opening up of Portugal to other civilizations.

Manuel
The steps are what make this composition work well, leading the eye into the composition. Nice and original positioning of the camera.
Good powerful shot.

Good POV looking up at the building. It's not just the steps that provide the lead-in to the image, but there are several other diagonals to lead the eye upwards.

Beautiful picture of a imposing building, Manuel. The sharpness just like the clarity are very good. Nice colours contrast between building and blue sky.

Olá Manuel. A good framing to present this old structure; the upward angle and the resulting "leaning" walls only emphasize the awe-inspiring aspect of the medieval stonework. Good crispness and contrast you got in the bright sun.

Hola Manuel

Bonjour mon ami Manuel,

Hi !
Beautiful perspective on this impressive monument. The textures are nice due to the excellent management of exposure and contrast. Good POV that increases the dynamic aspect of the shot. Thanks for sharing !

Hi Manuel,
Strong composition and a great POV. The Convent of Christ in Tomar is simply great. A very unique style, full of meaning and history. Like very much the stone textures and also the stairs lines which lead us to the convent.
May be this photo, would go nice in Black and White. I'll try a Workshop later.
Um abraço
Fred

Jean-Pierre
