Photographer’s Note
Santarém is a city located about 100km North of Lisbon, with a picturesque historic centre that has an impressive number of monuments, well represented by the Gothic style.
One of the places that can not be missed on a quick visit to Santarém, is the Old Castle (also known as Portas do Sol - Sun Gate) because of the spectacular views that offers over the Tagus river and the surrounding landscape, with the fertile fields of Lezíria, known for its extensive vineyards with nice geometric features, as you can see here.
The Castle is now a nice garden with a splanade and a lake, but part of the walls and towers are still well preserved.
I was surprised by the short representation of this city in TE and decided to post this attractive green view.
In WS you can see the view to the right that shows the Tagus river, the bridge and the buildings that grew up around the raillway station (Ribeira de Santarém). The two photos almost stick together and would give a nice Large Version, but I still haven't the knowledge to do that.

Hallo Ricardo!
What a contrast to my region here! This is a very impressive photo with a lot of details one can see. Agriculture here is much more easier than here in my low mountain range region. The included fig tree(?) creates a wonderful depth here. A beautiful picture!
Greetings from very cool Germany (6°C this morning!)

Hej Ricardo,
A beautiful view over the endless and flat fields. The sunlight and blue sky make this photo extra attractive. Many small details in the fields are well vissible. I like the inclusion of the leafs in the foreground too. Well done!

Ola Ric,
The landscape is so wide and seems so endless that I can almost get the feeling that the world is round when I look at the horizon. And endless green world is my dream. Whose is it not??

Hi Ricardo,
A very bright and crisp image, we can see indeed for miles and miles. The sky is very clear which brings a lot of detail in the image. The winding road leads us to the far background and creates nice depth and focuspoints...well done.

Hi Ricardo,
Amazing long distance view. I think most of the time the horizon must be much more hazy. The roads lingering to the horizon give a good idea of the distance and break the green landscape nicely.

Hello Ricardo,
An interdesting view of the vast farmland!
A very summery image with great colours, fine lines by the criss-crossing roads...
Good foreground interest creates depth!

Ola Ricardo,
You did not tell us you had to fly quicly to Holland... This shows the varierty of your country, no serra in sight, not even the gentle hills of Alentejo, but a nice dominating pov and good perspective of the road snaking through the fields patchwork.
Have a nice day,

Ola Ricardo,
indeed in this shot you can see the depth of the horizon as far as the eye can see.I impressed with the splendid and vivid colours as the sharpness and the clarity too.The fig tree in the foreground complete the frame.A well managed shot with an informative note.

The castle certainly provided you with a stunning viewpoint; you can see for miles over the vineyards. I think I prefer the WS though with the town below and the river and bridge. Even with the right program I don't think these two images would stitch together correctly as you need to have an overlap. There would be nothing for the river to join on to. If you take images again with a pano in mind keep the same settings, keep on the same plane and have an overlap of about a third. (a tripod is even better but I didn't use one for my 500th post) Better still use portrait mode so the result won't be too narrow. There are programs that do the work for you, so it's not difficult. I used PTgui but there are others free to download. (google it)
Anyway you have two good shots here.

Hola RIcardo.

É realmente intrigante Santarém estar tão pouco representada no TE.

The fg fig trees add depth & interest. Good high pov with excellent sharpness, lighting & contrast. The road provides a good diagonal lead in line to the horizon. Obrigado!

Both the posts are very good, but I slightly favour the WS one. A pity you can't do a stitch with the two photos, because I can't see an overlap. The clarity of the air is for all to see as we can see miles and miles into the horizon. Lovely colours especially the green. The winding road, which runs through the image also adds to the feeling of depth. I like your inclusion of the fig trees in the FG with some figs also visible. Good work my friend!
Friendly Regards

Hola Ricardo.
Amazing composition with the leafs in the fg giving a good perspective, the road takes our eyes to this beautiful valley going all the way up to the horizon giving a good depth, very good colors and point of view. Excellent details, love the inclusion of the bus on the road. Well done. TFS.
Best regards.
