Photographer's Note

This Calvary and the the Chapel of St. Stephen under it is the last station of “Stations of the Cross” beginning at the “Rotunda de Santa Teresa de Ourém” and following the trail usually traveled by the seers of the miracles of Fatima. The Stations of the Cross and the Chapel of St. Stephen was donated by Hungarian Catholics exiled in the West, were conceived by Hungarian Father Elias Kardos and planned by Hungarian Architect Ladislaw Marec. The first stone of the Stations of the Cross was blessed on June 21, 1959, Both the Stations of the Cross and the Chapel were blessed on May 12, 1964.
