Our Lady of the Castle - IV Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is just a very simple detail of the Church of Our Lady of the Castle, that is situated in Coruche, in the region of Ribatejo. Blue&white colors are also very common in the architecture of this region.
According to the legend, this church has been founded by D. Afonso Henriques, the first King of Portugal (12th century), but it has had many works all through the centuries. It's situated on the top of a hill, in the same place where the castle used to be, before being totally destroyed. The church has the blue and white colours, also traditional in this region and from this place we have a wonderful view over the city, the river and the rice fields.
Our Lady of the Castle is the Patron Saint of Coruche and every year there's a big feast with a procession.

Descubro pouco a pouco o seu estilo próprio e gosto dele: formas geométricas tiradas de construções, principalmente, com luz forte sobre poucas cores, ressaltando sobretudo o branco e o azul, com contraste com alguma outra cor, no caso aqui, a cor marrom-avermelhada da porta!

Olá Ana,
Se não dissesses nada, nunca pensaria que é uma igreja e embora saiba que estas paredes brancas e portas com postigo não se encontrem só no Alentejo, é inevitável pensar que seria por lá.
A simplicidade gráfica e de cores é talvez o que a torna mais impressionante e tão atractiva. Muito bem vista e enquadrada!

Hi Ana, Blue & white are always strong together, however sometimes overexposure can be a problem when shooting bright colours but you have managed it wonderfully, the composition is excellent with the door set to the right, for such a simple subject you have captured an interesting photo, kind regards Wilson.

Despite the simplicity of taking, a great composition.

The picture keeps a large linear stiffness, but with a lot of balance. Despite the excess lighting, the details are set out with clarity and definition, as well as their hues.

I like a lot this minimalistic photo, I've always thought that a smartly chosen detail can better illustrate the place than sometimes clumsy wide angle view. here I like a lot the clean lines, I find that very elegant. the pure white creates an immediate association with bright Mediterranean sun. very nice work, my compliments.

Adorei o grafismo desta foto, a composição está excelente e à excepção da fechadura e maçaneta de aldraba não há uma única curva, o que não é nada habitual.
