Lonely Walks in Constancia Photo

Photographer’s Note

Following my photo at Mr and Mrs Nelas home, I bring you a photo taken at Constancia and its charming tiny streets.
The weather was extremely pleasant, so pleasant that a t-shirt was the most warm thing needed that afternoon.

Constancia is a small town belonging to Santarem district built over a hill, very plesant to walk by.
Its main colours are white of the walls, painted with yellow stripes, just as you can see on the photo.

At the bottom of the town flows Tagus river, not at its full extent, but creating a very relaxing area where persons can walk, fish or simply enjoy the view.

Constancia has actually 900 inhabitants, but is visited by many more during the year, due to its beauty, to the sense of calm we get at its streets, I can tell that in the 2/3 hours walk at the historical center of the town, I must have crossed with 20 persons, the most.

At the top of the hill and city we might have a fantastic view of the city and Tagus river flowing by calmly.

and what fantastic colors and light.You had a good eye to see this and managed a great shot.I like your composition with the old lamp and it`s shadow.Wonderful orange tones and I like too these cobblestones.

I like it ,it's strong,and very easily observed in the gallery,
but I think a human presence would do no harm and the level of

O que eu gosto mais aqui são das sombras da varanda e do candeeiro. Estão mesmo muito boas. As cores transmitem uma sensção forte de calor, que pelo que dizes na nota, até estava nesse dia.

Your colors are so strong, so marvelous, I like them a lot !
Very nice composition, play between light and shadow is very well seen, with the projection of the lamp on the old wall. We can feel the warm atmosphere of these narrow streets.
A great composition, well done.

Hola Paolo,
colours and contrasts are wonderful, but the crop could be better...the wires at the top left and the house is somehow cut off. Maybe I would have taken only the wall at the left with the shadow, very reduced.. but so we have a very nice impression of this charming little town, thanks, Chris

Each post from you is like a little event, you bring on the table here so much details and texture, this is amazing here, i can almost touch and feel this wall, you used at best the light and of course the play of shadow, this is a brilliant picture, truely a pleasure to watch that kind of stuff.
Slow pace in posting but very high quality.

Very nice tones and beautiful composition. You POV is excellent and we can feel the warm atmosphere of this quite city. I like very well the street lamp and its reflection and the two circle windows, well placed in your composition.

je retrouve ici les belles couleurs fortes qui font ton style dans beaucoup de tes photos.
L'ensemble des couleurs tend vers la chaleur.
Parfaite exposition, des lumières hautes aux basses.
Quand je vois les installations électriques, j'ai peur.

Olá Paulo,
el detalle de la sombra de la farola sobre estas viejas fachadas es magnífico, en una composición que lleva tu sello personal.
Hay un fuerte y bonito grafismo en las texturas de los adoquines del pavimento, en el efecto de la pintura estropeada de las fachadas, y también un perfecto equilibrio entre la luz y las sombras.
Es un trabajo atractivo y bien hecho, amigo mío.

great shot as usual of this pretty corner of this charming town. Apart the razor sharpness and the well exposed colors, what makes the shot really great is the warm light and its managing. The long shadows are really attractive. Very well done!

Empty roads, hidden corners, lovely old textures, arches connecting cobbled streets, beautiful façades, windows, balconies, warm colors and warm light...
A marvellous share from your short stoll in the town.
The light is again the winner here, the shadow of the lamp is a great detail, very well seen indeed.

The compo. is appealing, the warm colours are excellent, but what's most interesting to me is the shadow of the lamp, so far detached from the source. The diagonal of the cobblestoned street also creates interest. Well done!
