Photographer’s Note
I am back from holidays in Spain, but as usual I m very slow processing my photos, so I haven't anything to show yet. This is a sunset view of my Alentejo. Well... technically, the hills seen on the distance are already in another region, Beira Baixa and if the POV was just a bit more to the right, we would see their continuation in the Spanish Extremadura. They border the Tagus river (Tejo in Portuguese, Tajo in Spanish), the longest river in Iberian peninsula, which enters the Portuguese territory some 20 Kms / 12 miles North/Northwest of the POV after marking the frontier for about 45 Km / 28 miles.
I shot this one less than an hour after this one of Menir da Meada, which is located just a few Kms South.
WS: The same shot with a less radical crop.
Location (latitude, longitude): 39.50715,-7.4501

Olà José
Time is flying and you're already back from your holidays! Hope you had good fun ;)
To me, you've done the right choice in posting this one! On the other one, the down part with the shady areas were not necessary to keep and you made a suitable crop! the lighting is fantastic and gave lovely golden tonalities which are matching so well with the blue tones of the sky. A good depth as well!

Hi Jose. Wonderful vista. Well captured with soft warm colours and good sharpness. Well composed also, the old dwellings are well placed and there is good balance between land and sky. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good weekend, Paul.

Olá José,
Beautiful landscape and the tones make it even more pleasant. The image is well balanced in colours and centering. The farmhouse is a strong focal point while the overall composition is sharp. Nice work José.

Olá José,
I think the crop was the right decision as I prefer this composition because of the balance of sky and ground and you achieved to keep a bit the large shadows. The warm light and colours are what we also enjoyed on our trip from Lisbon and I find them here well presented. The lines on the fields add good interest in their motion to the right and in contrast to the soft natural curves of the background scenery.
Um abraço, Ulf

Hi José,
This is a fantastic landscape photo. The warm and low sunlight is beautiful and brings out the golden hue of the fields really well. The dark blue sky is really wonderful too. It creates a great contrast. Thanks a lot for sharing!

Bonjour Jose
Amicalement
Denis!

Welcome back Jose. I hope you had a good time. You will have noticed the way the site is behaving lately. It took me 4 goes to open your photo and I still haven't managed to see your WS so I aplogise I can't say which I prefer. The late light is creating some long shadows which along with the lines of cut crops lead the eye to the little building. It is a lovely pink and blue sky.

Hi Jose,
nice to see some new postings, I`m still on my vacations, but whenever I find an Internet connection I try to give some comments.
Your shot is really lovely with the pleasant evening light and a great sky. I also had a look at the WS, I think the crop in the main post is better, but that`s just my opinion, both versions are very nice!
Looking forward to seeing more of your newest shots!

Hello!
Very nice picture that show us exactly the Alentejo atmosphere: lonely and very dry fields making small hills. Light is perfect. Perhaps the second house (we only see a part of the roof) could have disappear if walking a little bit on the right?
Excellent (very complete and usefull) comment!

Aguardamos as próximas.
Parabéns,
MCV

HI Jose,
I hope you enjoyed your hollidays, I still got to wait three more weeks to get to Sicily... Beautiful sunset, you really got amazing colors there. The cluds are perfect to give more interest to the shot. TFS. Rafa.

Amicalement.

Olá José,
You already captured one of my childhood memories. Low angled, soft lights are enviable with newly harvested field, plus their slope, plus terracotta roof tiles, plus wonderful sky, plus green textures.... Both versions of (cropped and not cropped) your posts are wonderful. Personally I'm not post processing man.
