Photographer’s Note

The beach of Porto Novo near Torres Vedras, where Alcabrichel river enters the Atlantic Sea, is in the threshold of a paradisiac valley, between hills of luxuriant vegetation, where exist caves with prehistoric vestiges.
Old fishing port, this beach also is known to have been the place of unloading of the British troops which have fought in the battle of the Vimeiro, at the time of the first French invasion.
