Photographer’s Note
I have included this picture in my Lisbon series on lights and colours even if it was shot in Sintra, a small village a few km from Lisbon.
this particular photo was taken outside the Palacio Nacional in Sintra, the best preserved Medieval palace in Portugal.
Sintra is a tourist resort just outside Lisbon, with charming old palaces and extravagant villas (once you see their architecture you will know what I mean by "extravagant")...). signs and traces of their past beauty (and opulence) are still to be found on their walls and gates.
Finally, Sintra enjoys a particular (very humid) micro-climate, which often wraps her around with dense fog or clouds but which is also very beneficial for the local vegetation.

Hi Cristina,
I like this composition: the tree partly covering the white wall of a building with red windows and doors - interesting idea! the tree leaves which are not yet fully opened, also add a really nice effect!
Best wishes,
Elena

Ciao Cristina
A very pleasant picture. The red doors and windows against this old "white" facade are very eyecatching.
The tree is a perfect element to adorn with elegance the architecture.
Perhaps could you have move back a little to get the top of the window in the right part entirely, but nothing important.

i like this one a lot cristina... it is simple yet so sophisticated, even poetic somehow with the dancing branches of the tree trying to reach out for the red window... well seen and framed, so beautiful...

Ciao Cri. Albero, architettura e colori.

Brava, buona domenica

The overall composition is just stunning. I like how the tree creates a natural edge to the picture on the right and reaches into the shot with its branches. There is a nice contrast between the jagged branches and the white facade with its straight lines.
