anche se scattata a Sintra, ho inserito qs. foto nella mia mini-serie sulle ombre perche' la considero parte integrante del mio viaggio a Lisbona.
siamo a Sintra, un paese a pochi km da Lisbona, nota meta turistica ma nonostante cio' un luogo davvero da visitare. non solo per il suo Palacio Nacional (all'interno del quale ho scattato qs. foto), ma anche per l'atmosfera che si respira tra le sue strade e stradine (palazzi fatiscenti ma che ancora mostrano i segni dell'antica bellezza; case e ville dalle architetture eccentriche...) e per le due attrazioni maggiori, il Palacio da Pena e il giardino di Quinta da Regaleira. Sintra gode inoltre di uno speciale micro-clima, molto umido e spesso piovoso, che la avvolge spesso di suggestive nebbie e rende la vegetazione molto ricca ed aromatica.

I have included this picture in my Lisbon series on shadows even if it was shot in Sintra, a small village a few km from Lisbon. To me all these pictures belong together - at least this is how I composed them in my head =)
this particular photo was taken inside the Palacio Nacional in Sintra, the best preserved Medieval palace in Portugal. Sintra is a tourist resort just outside Lisbon, with charming old palaces and extravagant villas (once you see their architecture you will know what I mean by "extravagant")...). signs and traces of their past beauty (and opulence) are still to be found on their walls and gates. Sintra is also visited by many tourists because of its Palacio da Pena and the gardens of Quinta da Regaleira, both built in neo-Manueline style and with many eccentric details and corners.
