Photographer’s Note

This picture I did it in Sintra on Atlantic ocean coast.
The cape is located in Lisbon district, 40 kilometres west of the city of Lisbon and 18 kilometres west of the town of Sintra in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.

The coastline looks great. I like the effect of haze in the distance so that horizon line is not visible at all. Meanwhile rocks nearby have very good contrast.

Hello Adrian,
You've captured a very beautiful scene in this picture, the red and green colours of the rocks and ground juxtaposed against the rolling sea works very well. You’ve also effective conveyed a sense of perspective and distance with your choice of composition. Good eye. I’m surprised you haven’t gotten more attention with this one.

Hi again Adrian .
I live very near Cabo da Roca,The most ocidental point of Europe .
I have many pictures of this place but this one is very good and sunset gave a special colour efect that i like.

the golden rocks are iluminated by a perfect light, this created a nice view with the misty sky. very beautiful work, well framed too

Hi Adrian,
I am just planning my vacation in Portugal and I see the coast is spectacular not only in Algarve but even around the Lisbon.
This is a very nice view, I like the colors, the white color of the waves catches the eye.

Hi Adrian,

You've captured a very warm light, apparently without the use of any filters - is that correct? You may notice I'm really appreciative of images that are very minimally processed.

I love the wave on the left. I imagine you might have waited until just the right wave came along and crested in just such a perfect spot to balance your image :)

Rocks and sea......aren't they so beautiful to look....only to look but very beautiful to take pictures too. Nothing takes natures beauty away.
You've very good lighting in your shot.....very well worth waiting for.
Especially taken in winter month. I wish I could jump and fly.......

Bonjour Adrian,
beaucoup de choses contribuent à l'esthétique formidable de cette photo:
- les jeux de couleurs entre mer et roc
- la brume qui efface l'horizon
- les lumières qui illuminent les rochers.
Une excellente ambiance maritime à laquelle il ne manque que les bruits et les parfums.

Hi Adrian,
There is a cafe in my town named Sintra; your beautiful photo tells me why they chose that name.

Very nice framing with the rocky coast angling into the mist; the red rocks provide the perfect contrast to the soft blue of the ocean; good detail in the racks adds to my pleasure.
