Photographer’s Note
Maybe this is the less interesting one of the series on this palace, but I wanted to show this rather different view of the place.
This baroque/rococo palace, was once owned by the Portuguese royal family. What exists today was built in the middle 18th century, replacing a more ancient palace.
On the first post of this series you can find some more informative notes.

Jose
Actually I think this is one of the more interesting images .. especially thanks to your composition .. the framing with the tree .. the way the light and shadow play across it .. the way the lines and angles sit within the frame .. and especially how those stairs are positioned .. thoughtful and wonderful.
take care.

Hello Jose -
A nice image captured at a very nice time of the day. The long shadows and soft light make this image stand out. The play of soft light and shadows on the building make some of the intricate architectural details stand out. Exposure looks to be spot with an appropriate DOF. Well done!
Thank you for sharing

Jose,
Your composition here is great with the stairs leading the eye up to the palace and the tree framing the image. The colors and lighting are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. I like your POV showing the different angles of the palace.

Besos! Paula.

Olá José,
well chosen POV and the good sharpness helps for the details. Light and shadow on stairs and wall are pleasant.
Cheers, Ulf

Hi Jose, what an interesting architectural shot. It reminds me somuch of Brazil. Well, there is a special reason for that - the colonial time and still the cultural proximity between POrtugal and Brazil. Have you ever been in Brazil? You would love it!
The diagonal POV gives a good sense of depth and the stairs opening to beoth side is fantastic. The sunlight has the right angle to enhance all the sculptures.
Very nice picture, one of your best architectural ones.

Zeca

I find this of equal interest to the other shots. I like the corner composition which shows the dual sweeping staircase as well as lots of other interesting architectural detail, brought out well by the light/shade contrasts. The inclusion of the tree makes a wonderful frame on the top and right.
