Photographer’s Note
While I was processing the photos taken at Queluz last November, I noticed this one shot by my 9 years son while he was shooting the birthday party that was going one in the room. I hope this little violation of TE TOS isn't too grave.
You can see here the fresco painting of the roof of the Hall of Ambassadors, the place where the king received the high dignitaries. This room is part of a baroque/rococo palace rebuilt on the 18th century by the Portuguese Crown on top of an older palace. It served as main Royal Palace for some decades.
On the first post of this series you can find some more informative notes. Attached to it is a WS showing the birthday party that was being celebrated on this room, enacting daily life of 18th century child princesses.

Hello Jose,
Your son is a natural photographer! The shot is well exposed and the composition is pretty good. The colors and detail of the painting is fantastic. Two points for your son....

David

Hi Jose,
Your son noticed something a lot of adults would have passed by with a simple sigh... He noticed the other side, and captured it perfectly!!

Olá José,
congretulations to your son, he seems to be talented. Excellent indoor capture in technical way. And this POV is one of the best I think to capture all without heavy distortion.
Any idea for a present next birthday? What about a camera?
Cheers, Ulf

Miguel.

I like the clarity of the photo, showing all the details and the gorgeous painting, I would have liked to see also the lamp in the photo, but I think this could have been only achieved by lying on the floor maybe.
Greetings,
Daniela

Sendo do teu filho, também é tua. Parabens ao miúdo pela bonita foto que nos mostra aqui. Continua a incentivá-lo e teremos artista no futuro. Já agora faz a inscrição dele no TE e deixa o "bichinho" da fotografia entrar.
BOM ANO NOVO para os dois.

Jose I really enjoy admiring Frescos. The older ones are usually nicer than ther newer ones, perhaps more character or historical facts include in them. This one here is beautiful. The perspective, and to think that a nine year old could come up with such a great picture is impressive. He definitely has the knack to be a photographer. My compliments to him for this nice shot :-)

Well conceived shot, José, and beautifully sharp and well-exposed. With an octogonal ceiling, I might hav rotated it a few degrees so that one of the eight sides of the octagon is parallel to the bottom of the frame, and the chain of the chandelier hangs straight vertically. Considering the age of the photographer, a future Treker, it is an extremely good image.

Bulent

Hello Jose,
It's alaways hard to shoot these painted roofs. I think your son managed very nicely with the perspective, and produced a very nice picture, congrats to him !
Very nice idea to post this one.

JB.

F
