Photographer's Note

This pictures shows the Monuument of Discoveries from behind the navigators. The monument, wich was ercted in 1960 shall remind the great discoveries of the portuguese seafarers (f.e. the sea-route to India). It resembles to a caravelha. The tower is in shape of a sail and the persons are looking towards the bow on which Henry the Navigator is standing. Another view of this monument you find here

Hallo Roland,
Ein imposantes Monument nur schade daß es nicht komplett zu sehen ist, eine andere Möglichkeit wäre es gewesen sich im Querformat nur auf die Skulpturengruppe zu beschränken.So ist es weder Fisch noch Fleisch.Das Licht war aber sehr gut hier es arbeitet die Konturen der Skulpturen schön heraus.
