Lisbon streets are full of old poeple. I made this one some years ago walking on the streets of Alfama.
Back to TE but maybe not for a long time.
I would to post my forgotten photographs from Lisbon and my new photos from Paris.

Hello Grazyna,
Old age and hard times may explain why she doesn't look quite happy. Maybe she didn't like your camera either. She is well captured in a perfect light and the blurred background shows us some of the environment in which she lives.

Piękność Alfamy ! Przypomina mi moją stuletnią ciocię. Ludzie z wiekiem często upodabniają się do ptaków - rysy im się wyostrzają a w spojrzeniu dominuje czujność i nieufność. Piękne.
Prawie zapomniałam, jak to jest być na TE :)

I'm quite sure, that's her happy face!
Much too much in the frame...No reason to show us a half of Lisbon. Her 'happy face' alone is more than enough.

Hi Grazyna,
I have been dreaming of Lisboa of late, that city had such an effect on me, and I can see it's winding streets here, the face of tradition it keeps with the women here. I thought B&W may be best, but I find I like the muted colours here more.

Nie wiem, co myśleć o tej kobiecie w tle.. Wyglada, to trochę jakby pociągała tą starszą panią jak marionetkę za sznurki;)

Hey, you've started posting again. I thought we'd lost you! This is a great return and you're right on form. The forbidding expression here is clearly the vital element in this composition. She looks as if she's about to take a swing at you! Confrontational photographs like this take guts and a thick skin to make, but the results are worth it for the raw immediacy and unvarnished humanity they show us. Thanks for doing what I find very difficult.
