Photographer's Note
The area underwent a tremendous transformation in the 1990s when it was chosen as the location for the Expo '98 World Exhibition. After the exhibition, the area got its current name (although it is not uncommon for the Portuguese to still refer to it as "Expo"), and more transformations occurred such as the new Vasco da Gama shopping mall, the Lisbon's International Fair complex, hotels and many new office and residential buildings. Many attractions built for the Expo '98 remained and keep drawing visitors, such as the Oceanarium, one of the world's biggest aquariums.
Taking advantage of its geographical position, Parque das Nações is also proud of its brand new Marina. Marina Parque das Nações features 600 berths and modern infrastructures, a river pier for cruises or historical vessels, and an exclusive pontoon prepared to receive nautical and on land events.
For those who are birdlovers, this is a perfect spot for bird watching as it is sited in the Tagus Estuary, one of the largest and diverse estuaries of Europe.
An estimated 15,000 people currently live in the Parque das Nações, which was halved between the Lisbon and Loures municipalities till November 2012. After a movement of citizens requesting the Lisbon's half to annex the one belonging to Loures, thereby integrating the entire area within the Lisbon municipality, the area is now inside Lisbon.

Hello Daniel,
I have read your note with interest and I like your photo illustraiting the changes in Lisbon. It looks so far from Wim Wenders "Lisbon Story", but I guess changes in modern world are unavoidable.
This place however is quite charming. I love the POV which gives very unique perspective to the image. Nicely composed and with good colors.
Warm regards
Kamila

Ciao Daniel
Ciao e buon fine settimana
Romano

Hello Daniel,
Great point of view and excellent graphical effect of movement caught in still motion. I like the long perspective lines in your composition and the depth you achieved with this curtain of cascading water. The frozen sharp wave creates an interesting pattern of sparkling light. Very well done.
Have a nice Sunday.

Really the perfect POV for this destination, Daniel. Excellent shutter speed showing us the detail of the water and capturing its energy well, and the people dancing in the BG make great human elements bringing this to life. Color and light both very well rendered as well. Thanks!

Bonsoir Daniel,
C'est une belle représentation de l'eau en mouvement. J'aime aussi la diagonale créée par la chute. Je ne sais pas si j'aurais envie de passer dessous.

Hello Daniel
a great POV, I could imagine that it must be a pleasure to walk under this water feature on a hot summer day.
Somehow I still have an image of Lisbon in my head dating from Alain Tanners film "in the white city" but as your picture proves that is nothing more than a distant memory and cliché
have a great sunday
Daniel

Hello Daniel
I like this a lot. The lines and shapes of this shot along with the contrasts between areas of colour, light and shade give this an underlying abstract dimension - very well composed.

Ciao dear Daniel
A very artistic and inventive POV from below the fountain. I lvoe the stark colours and the excellent freezing of the water with the faster shutter speed. The vertical frame was also well-chosen. A beautifully composed and well-realised photo.
