Photographer's Note
The Tagus (Tajo, Tejo) is the longest river on the Iberian Peninsula. It is 1,038 km (645 mi) long, 716 km (445 mi) in Spain, 47 km (29 mi) along the border between Portugal and Spain and 275 km (171 mi) in Portugal, where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean near Lisbon. It drains an area of 80,100 square kilometers (30,927 sq mi) (the second largest in the Iberian peninsula after the Douro). The Tagus is highly utilized for most of its course. Several dams and diversions supply drinking water to most of central Spain, including Madrid, and Portugal, while dozens of hydroelectric stations create power. Between dams it follows a very constricted course, but after Almourol it enters a vast alluvial valley prone to flooding. At its mouth is a large estuary on which the port city of Lisbon is situated.
The estuary is protected by the Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve. There is the largest bridge across the river, the Vasco da Gama Bridge, which with a total length of 17.2 km (10.7 mi) is the longest bridge in Europe.

Good Morning Daniel,
The view from the window is attractive and once, before I took up photogtraphy, would have been my main interest but now, I see the depth of the window recess, the light and shadows revealing the textures and the patterns and find that even more interesting.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Daniel,
A lovely view through the window, but as Bev says it is your mastery over the light and shadow areas that makes the composition. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Hello Daniel,
a wonderful composition with fascinating romantic atmosphere. I like very much the view through the window, a mosaic that makes a faithful capture of the style and atmosphere of the antique city and the brilliant light and colours that surround it. The interior is captured very clearly too, the details of the various patterns of the decoration and the light are lovely. Lighting, colours, contrasts and perspective have been managed superbly. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania

Bonjour Daniel,
Une très belle composition. J'aime les images qui sortent de l'ombre pour exploser dans la lumière. Le cadrage est superbe.
Amicalement

Hello Daniel,
Certainly a nice view, but i think the nicest part is on this side of the window. There are fine details of wood and stone and an attractive square pattern of the shadows. It would have been interesting if the note had included some information on the place where you took the photo.
Kind regards,
Gert

Dear Daniel
This is well done and extremely hard to do because of the light circumstances, form a darl mood with loads of backlight...
I really like these typical old Portugese mood ,alomost colonial ,like Ive see it in Goa in India in the early 1980s.
The colors as seen trough the doorways is superbe..

Hello Daniel,
The light streaming through the window has made an interesting pattern of shadows and shown some lovely detail on the woodwork. The view has also been very well captured as you manged the difficult light conditions superbly.
Kind Regards, Ann

buona serata

Hi Daniel
It's a very challenging shot as far as lighting is concerned but its nicely done here. Certainly you've balanced the lighting of the scene pretty well and good contrast to the blue sky outside. Very nice technique, really good to see the brights and darks still bright and dark but pleasnntly viewable. The glass window and the squares invite the eyes into the outer dimension. Well done,
Warm regards
