Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries) is a monument on the northern margin of the Tagus River estuary, in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém, Lisbon. Located along the river were ships departed to explore and trade with India and Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery (or Age of Exploration) during the 15th and 16th centuries...

the composition is delicious; the image is graphic but not hard in shapes. I believe you've done a little under exposition, isn't it?

Very good composition in black and white. The flooring is natural swings nicely contradicts the bike, technocratic image.
I see you were recently in Portugal. I ask: You might want to travel there because next month there with my wife we are preparing.

isn't it funny? I love patterns and textures and the only place I have not seen in Lisbon was the Monument to the Discoveries... for some reason I couldn't get to it and every time I see photos depicting the wonderful pavement I feel the urge to go back... :)
I like the tilt - the waves seem to ripple out of the image, the bicycle rider looks as if he is navigating a sea of stones... what a great light you had :)

very nice street shot with a nice chosen POV...like the composition by the bicycle caring man with its shadow on the street with right placement in the frame...also like the pattern & texture of the street...
