Photographer’s Note

Hi dear TE friends

This is my 300th picture from Portugal and this one is from Park of Nations. I did it so far without tripod and using high speed....In the WS, you can see another picture with some PP job

I hope you like it !

The new architecture of the Park of Nations Area has amazing details. I like these buildings with shapes, symmetries and strong colours. Here, we can see the ladders of security on top of building.

By other hand i like the traditional look with pots of plants on balconies

With its many monuments, museums and ancient quarters, Lisboa has also become, in the past decades, a cosmopolitan capital with a rich cultural life, animated events (from classical music to rock concerts, traditional bullfights and football matches), lively late-night entertainment (discotheques, clubs and bars along the waterfront, for example) and large commercial centers with fashionable shops.

Spreading across hills on the north bank of the Tagus estuary, the city is proud of its days of glory during the Age of Discovery, as can be seen in such monuments as the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, a magnificent monastery from the 16th century, or the Torre de Belém, a tower built as a fortress near the river Tagus that became a symbol of the Portuguese era of expansion.

Many other historic monuments and museums are worth visiting, such as the Castelo de São Jorge (once a Moorish castle with superb views over the city), the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (a national art collection within a 17th century palace), the Cathedral and churches such as São Vicente de Fora.

Old and fascinating quarters with picturesque houses and narrow streets, such as Alfama and Bairro Alto, now exhibit fashionable restaurants and bars or the fado houses, where this typical music of Lisbon is sung acompanied by guitars.

More modern developments, such as the Centro Cultural de Belém (featuring concerts, shows and exhibitions) or the grounds where the Expo´98 was held, with a gigantic aquarium, illustrate new tendencies in architecture and entertainment.

It looks really fantastic. This blue colour is very nice.
I would give a little bit more on the lef side, to not to cut the stairs. But I didn't see this building and maybe it's impossible? :-)

This one is really attractive.
Your framing is perfectly thought to get a strong graphical impact. Excellent use of the lines.
The blue facade associated with this ideal light is a great back-cloth and is very eyecatching.
A bright and strong image.

How did you see in here?I've loved a lot of that symmetry and color of wall..Why did you use to a model?So that photo might far more beautiful than this version.

Tu as eu l'œil pour dénicher cet endroit très coloré et exploiter au mieux le graphisme créé par toutes ces lignes, les escaliers et les pots de fleurs dont la couleur tranche de jolie façon avec le bleu des façades. Une photo de très grande qualité.

hello Aires,
I like this type of photos a lot, I've always enjoyed observing urban geometry, especially with such bold colours. the repetitive patters of stairs and windows are fascinating, and the potted plants add just enough of random elements to keep the photo interesting. very well seen and presented.

apesar do belo trabalho de PP no WS, prefiro essa versão, tanto pelo formato vertical mais adequado a esse tipo de assunto como o contraste de cores entre os jarros de plantas e a parede. Bela homenagem a sua 300ª foto portuguesa.

Bonjour Aires,
félicitations pour cette 300e publication.
Beaucoup de bleui, une couleur qui colle avec l'été et aussi pas mal de graphisme avec ces escaliers bien conçus sur le plan esthétique. Les petits pots de fleurs et leur contenu sont aussi un plus au niveau des couleurs.

Parabéns pela 300ª portuguesa! Eu ainda nunca mais chego às 200...

Tu e o Gonçalo têm explorado bem estas fachadas coloridas e geométricas, com os vasos a darem um toque de natureza num ambiente algo industrial. O enquadramento é perfeito. É curioso como a imagem sugere uma "simetria" que afinal não existe.

Cette photo a tout pour plaire, beau graphisme, couleurs éclatantes et lumière radieuse. On ne s'attend pas à voir des pots de fleurs mais ils donnent un côté vivant et humain à cette composition.

i like the workshop also, but the original i think is much,much better. i like the blue background, the vertical pov giving the sensation of movement, of climbing stairs.
