Photographer's Note

If we take a few hours to walk along the streets of Lisbon, we soon come to the conclusion that urban art is all around, sometimes in the most incredible places.

This is a long wall in the centre of the city - one of the places where graffitis are allowed. They keep changing all the time, but at this moment many of them clearly show the insatisfaction about the present situation of the country.
In this one, we can read "Lord, rid us of these dirty corrupts that are destroying Portugal".

Not so fan of wall art but this one is clearly unusual and very informative and to me unexpected

Hi Ana,
I really love these images of street art that you are sharing, its inspirational to see how talented the people who make these are. The angle of the drawing looks almost 3D. I admire the message too, and its one that holds true in so many parts of the world. Here in Ireland we also hope and pray that the idiots running the country would go away, but sadly, hoping and praying does not seem to be enough. Great shot again, thank you.

Even though the theme is sadly so true and highly topical, this oversize girl somewhat scares me and leaves an uneasy feeling with me.
But well seen and very well executed shot.
I wish Portugal all the best to overcome these difficutlt times

Olá, amiga Ana,
creo que este mural se podría escribir exactamente igual en mi país, en español, porque el significado del enfado de los ciudadanos es el mismo, y la ineptitud y la corrupción política están al mismo nivel.
Has captado una escena urbana muy actual, con una bonita luz y unos colores bien gestionados.

You certainly found some very interesting street art which is much nicer than the usual nasty slogans grafitti one often sees. A real eyecatcher with strong message too. I enjoy the idea that someone was bold enough to put those together. The colour combination is quite subdued and the over powering fig contrasting stunningly. I like it as presented, simple but very effective. A superb shot in every way - colour, comp, content and meaningful. Well done

corruptos são como ratos, existem onde existe um celeiro cheio de riquezas e sempre existirão, o que deve ser feito é manter a praga sob rígido controle..pois é, além da corrupção creio que o mal recente de ptgal foi usar dinheiro da CEE em obras não tão necessárias e em subsídios estúpidos. me lembro um dia que vi uma plantação de girassóis floridos no alentejo, eram do tamanho de margaridas e perguntei a meu tio alentejano porque estavam assim e ele nos disse que o fazendeiro havia recebido subsídio para plantar e só isso era necessário, a produção não seria verificada e então o produtor apenas embolsou o dinheiro ao invés de fazer a terra produzir. nestas horas vemos que não são apenas os políticos que fazem as ruas proezas. na hora de saquear os cofres públicos todos se acham no direito.
um amigo luso aqui do TE ficou algo chateado com esta minha opinião. espero que vc não se importe com minhas palavras, amo ptgal mais que muitos portugueses.
voltando a foto, o mural está bem feito e apresenta bem o momento difícil que o país passa, mas ele já atravessou tanta coisa, e muito pior, e deu a volta por cima.
eu que tenho 51 anos já o vi atrasado em 68, já o vi pós-ditadura em 80, já o vi milionário em 97 e decadente em 2012..
