Photographer's Note

Here's a detail of an old building decorated with paintings representing scenes and sentences taken from the film "José e Pilar", that describes the life of José Saramago - Portuguese writer awarded with the Nobel Prize for Literature - and his wife, Pilar del Rio.
Among many other sentences, we can read "We always get to the place where we are expected".
Supported by several entities, this artwork has been made by several artists around two years ago, but it's still in good conditions and worth to be seen.

hi ana,
this is a fantastic composition ful of interest and very well executed. the colours are wonderful and you have managed the light perfectly. the flaking paint on the wall has created a very appealing effect and some lovely textures.

cuando he leído el título de tu foto, he pensado, somos nosotros.
Pero no, son Saramago y su esposa, y nosotros no merecemos ser recordados en una pintura mural.
Me gusta la nitidez y el colorido de la imagen, sus bonitos detalles y la calidad de la luz.
El encuadre es eficaz y elegante, y la composición es impecable.

Hello Ana,
This is definitely a better than average graffiti, at least intellectually. The real value of the photo is the combination of the painting and quotes with the areas of cracked plaster, the window and the pavement. In this way you have created something much more interesting than just a photo of a painting.

A wonderful wall painting, with known author portrait with his wife. So well painted, and no less pic. collected, fine clarity and good light on.
Exquisite art detail, I'd add a map with direction to futur tourists to see, but that's only my attitude about.

Ana - a lovely and faithful recording of this bit of street art. I like the different styles that have been used in the composition of the work; the almost fractal gray section at lower left matches well with the more lifelike styles of their faces. Good framing to include the window and surrounding walls for context and texture.

This mural painting on an old building is a piece of art. It still looks wonderful but who knows for how long because a lot of damage to the wall.
The photo has good composition and fantastic light management and colors.

Hi Ana,

Another great street scene, so colorful and well composed. The textures are amazing and really help define the age and character of this wall as they are literally peeling away. Even without anyone in the scene it feels lively due to the mural. It's a very interesting and isolated section of this street. Thanks for sharing.
