Photographer’s Note

…with Tolga Bermek (TOBER), last Saturday !

He is from Turkey, Ankara capital city.

We did a big walk together near the Estoril beaches, enjoy the sea and people.

During our Tea Time, we talk as usual... about our countries, cameras and trips

This is a picture of the Poça Beach

Poça Beach is situated in São João do Estoril, in one of the extremes of the seaside walk that is extended until Cascais.
The accesses can be made through the small car parking or through a pedestrian tunnel that links the beach to Santa Rita valley, on the other side of the road.
This beach has two pleasant esplanades (a small and a bigger one).
At night time, really close by, the Fort Velho, inserted in a old fortress, is a quite popular destination for young people.

Praia da Poça
A praia da Poça localiza-se em São João do Estoril, num dos extremos do passeio marítimo que se estende até Cascais. Está servida por um pequeno parque de estacionamento que tem acesso directo à Avenida Marginal.
No entanto, obras recentes diminuíram a capacidade desse parqueamento, já de si insuficiente para a quantidade de carros que o procuram. Além do acesso automóvel, um túnel pedonal liga a praia ao vale de Santa Rita, do outro lado da estrada e da linha de comboios.
A praia possui uma esplanada de razoáveis dimensões. Uma outra, mais pequena, funciona no outro extremo do areal, próximo da praia da Azarujinha.
Quanto a diversão nocturna, o Forte Velho é o espaço mais próximo, instalado numa das fortalezas sobranceiras à praia. No entanto, a proximidade com o Estoril fornece várias outras opções de animação.

Playa de Poça
La playa de Poça está localizada en São João de Estoril, en uno de los extremos del paseo marítimo que se extiende hasta Cascais. Posee un pequeño aparcamiento que tiene acceso directo a la Av.Marginal.
No obstante, obras recientes disminuyeron la capacidad de ese aparcamiento, ya por sí insuficiente para la cantidad de coches que lo buscan. Además del acceso en coche, un túnel peatonal une la playa al valle de Santa Rita, del otro lado de la carretera y de la linea de trenes.
La playa posee una terraza de razonables dimensiones. Otra, más pequeña funciona en el otro extremo del arenal, próximo de la playa de Azarujinha.
En cuanto a la diversión nocturna, el Forte Velho es el espacio más próximo, instalado en una de las fortalezas protectoras a la playa. No obstante, la proximidad con Estoril, proporciona varias otras opciones de animación.

Olá Aires,
acabo de encender el ordenador y conectarme a TE y me encuentro con esta deliciosa imagen en la galería, es una excelente fotografía.
El encuentro con Tolga seguro que fue agradable, además elegistéis un bello lugar!! Fantásticos colores y definición de imagen, en un POV muy bien pensado que nos muestra una excelente perspectiva de la playa, mar y edificios.
La imagen tiene un luz fantástica y hermosos contrastes de tonalidades!!

Olá Aires,

Beautiful view with the brightly coloured building dominating the view of the town. Your point of view here is very effective to capture the town and surrounding beach and water. The plants on the foreground add a nice frame to the view as well. Thanks Aires.

Hi Aires, it was really nice to meet you. I've learnt many things from you about the art of photography and different aspects of cameras which I didn't know before.

This photo of Praia da Poça is really amazing, with good light and vivid colours. The inclusion of the wild plant at the froground added deepness to the image. I also liked the waves of the ocean and red roofed beautiful houses at the background.

Bom dia Aires, bem bonita esta vista com os cactos à frente. Como é habitual, tens uma composição cuidada com tudo no sítio certo. Já algum tempo que não venho para estes lados e é sem dúvida uma passadeira espectacular, especialmente para quem gosta de mar. O que é impressionante é a quantidade de gente na praia. Com o calor que está a chegar deve ficar completamente cheia no próximo fds. Gostei de ver os WSs - estás um perito em relações internacionais ;-)

very nice shot. good sharpness and depth. vivbrant colours. there is a nice balance of light between the sea and the beach. I'm not completely sure I like the plant in the FG, but they help with the DOF

This is a great shot! The plants in the foreground give the shot depth. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and detail. Your composition is fine including the plants in the foreground with the beach leading the the eye to the city.

Good image and composition; however, I am unsure if the foliage in the foreground (bottom of frame) takes away or adds to the image. The more I think about it, the picture would come across differently and put the focus more on the beach and town. Sometimes these things can not be removed from view, I know, just my thoughts.

En una ocasión estuve en Estoril y no me gustó mucho, pero esta toma está muy bien con un bonito encuadre lleno de color. Las casas parecen figuras de LEGO. Estupendos detalles y profundidad.

The plants in FG give a touch of exoticism and lead nicely the viewer to the colored houses dominating the beach and sea. Light is very pleasant and the colors tones are superb!

Hola Aires.
Es muy interesante conocer otro miembro de TE, caminar y tomar fotos juntos es un gran placer.
Tu foto esta muy buena, la presencia de los arbustos al frente produce una buena perspectiva pudiendo apreciar en segundo plano la bella ciudad de Estoril captada con estupendos colores, los tonos del mar y la playa junto a los de las casas poduce un precioso contraste. Fantastico cielo.

part of the city is under sun while far across it looks cloudy and windy. and your photo is definitely better with people walking on the beach. otherwise such a beautiful place would seem so so empty
