Photographer’s Note

After having so much fun snowboarding last week, I found my desk full of work and we little time for TE. I finally manage to post another photo of this series (may be the last one) of the breaking waves.

It's taken in the same spot of the previous one but on the other side of the passway and this fisherman is the same guy that is completely relaxed, while the breaking waves explode all around him.

In the back, you can see one edge of this coastline, with the touristic village of Cascais.

In ws, you can see two other shots of these breaking waves, from this same POV. I took a lot of them and chose this particulary one.

Reduced the noise with neatimage and added a bit of contrast to make the splash more visible.

Same camera - Olympus AZ-2.

En esta foto creo que si que te mojaste. La composición me gusta mucho para deja volar la imaginacion y pienso que el pescador que falta es porque se lo ha llevado el mar jajajajaja.
Realmente un momento irrepetible.

Olá Ricardo,
Não há nada como fazer férias na Neve e uns posts com faz muito bem das ondas. Para mim, são complementares e fazem muito bem à saude e harmonia fisica entre estações e o stress normal e global da nossa vida que geralmente é uma captura errada da maioria dos politicos que focam bem a carteira e coloam em blur a dos outros. Tudo bem até a um dia que estarábreve ;-)))

E é exactamente e simbolicamente o que representa com esta excelente composição que mostra para mim esta luta sem fim.

Muito bem capturado e realizado.
Darei sempre a minha partilha em novas criativas visões de Portugal, mas não as repetitivas e saudosistas.

Great shot and a very good title too. The man over there indeed seems to be unmoved by the force of the huge waves, but it looks like as if someone else in front was swept away by the sea... ;-) Well composed shot, I like the dark parts in contrast with the white waves. je pense que de la série des grosses vagues, c'est celle que je préfère. La lumière sur les gouttes d'eau est magnifique et j'aime beaucoup la silhouette du pêcheur assis. Très belle photo

In WS #2 he does look a bit more concerned standing up, but it looks like he decided that after he got wet he couldn't get any wetter. Difficult choice between the main post and the other WS; they are both good. You have frozen the movement of the waves perfectly.

Ce que j'aime le plus dans cette photo (outre la vue en général), c'est l'attitude du pêcheur qui semble collé à son siège et totalement indifférent aux assauts successifs des vagues.
Une photo très agréable à regarder.

A well composed and dynamic shot once again. You have obtained superb contrast here and I especially like the detail of the tiles/paving stones. The fisherman hunched over with the wave breaking beside him is a wonderful capture. I believe I like this one the most. An impressive shot, Ricardo.

Hi Ricardo, I agree with your choice : This is the strongest image of the three. That serene fisherman silhouette framed by furious waves is both spectacular and funny. The peaceful fishing lines in front of the sea fury make a great contrast.

Hello ricardo, I like your wave series. Here the scene is impressive because the fisherman seems to take no notice of the waves crashing around him. I like the way you have silhouetted him against the white spray in the background.

The waves looks so impressive,like a geisers, I'm wondefing when this guy will be wet. he loves to do that. I like his solohuette,is a motion picture and you capture very well.

nem sei se fica melhor ou não com a inclusão do splash da esquerda, de qualquer maneira é uma belíssima imagem, o pescador está particularmente fabuloso neste cenário violento. muito bem feito, parabéns
