This is one of most beautiful Forts in Lisbon region.

The original building, built on the ruins of the old Fort of St. Antonio da Cruz, almost looks like a medieval castle, braving the fury of the sea that in the days of greatest turbulence affects the basis of its high walls. This is in Tamariz Beach.

Tamariz Beach is
situated in Estoril, next to the train station, the Tamariz Beach is the most cosmopolitan in Cascais area. Detached from the Estoril Casino’s beautiful Gardens by the Marginal Road and the train, Tamariz Beach is one of the tourist centres in the region, with several bars and clubs. It is a quite comfortable beach for those using public transportation.

The beach is not provided with a car parking of its own, therefore it is common in summer time that all the areas around the beach are crowded.

Acreditas que eu nunca desci à praia do Tamariz? Também nunca fui atraído pelas praias da linha. Fui algumas vezes (poucas) à praia de Carcavelos e é tudo. Portanto, só teno ideia desta casa vista da estrada.
Quanto à foto, tem um bom PdV mas parece-me que lhe falta nitidez.

Only living in a place one have time to visit all the beautiful places.
This place is again so picturesque, so pretty. It looks like from a fairy tale.

interessante mesmo esse forte, parece mais um castelo, mas na verdade os castelos mais se pareciam fortes. As cores ficaram boas, e diria que hoje tem uma localização bem privilegiada.

Hello Aires, thank you so much for this excellent capture from my neighborhood. It's really refreshing to have an evening stroll on this coastal strip from from Monte Estoril to Cascais which is almost 3 km.

I guess this elegant fortress is still being used as a residence, because I can see the indoor lights from time to time.

Your composition is idea in this image, featuring the neo-Gothic Chalet Barros on the resplendent beach. Like the Pena Palace outside Lisbon, there is on display the 19th century's fascination with ancient architecture. Your note is highly informative, as always.

This is a great shot of this fortress. The off center placement of the fortress works well giving the photo a sense of direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The people add a good sense of scale for the shot. The deep blue sky provides an excellent backdrop for the scene.
