Photographer's Note

One of Cascais' main attractions is the Museum Conde Castro Guimarães. This former palace, its interior and its surrounding park were donated to the people of Cascais by Count Manuel de Castro Guimarães, who died in 1927.

The palace shows the luxurious life of wealthy Portuguese aristocrats with beautiful paintings, sculptures, furniture, porcelain and a valuable library.

Hello Daniel ,
For my two days in Cascais , the sun was brighting only 5 minutes , and I've never seen a beautiful blue sky like this ;( I 've taken a pic nic at this place , and the park around the building is very pleasant . You've taken here a view of a less shown perspective , but very fine , with an excellent management of the light . I will post a view of the museum from the sea .

The shadow areas bring a particular mood to the composition that is very pleasing. I also like the framing offered by the tree and the shadows it makes on the wall. Lovely colours and very good sharpness.

Hello Daniel,

A fine viewpoint, which uses the f/g building and the branches to create a very natural frame.
I love how the tiers of the building draw us to the spire. The shadows are an important feature in the overall appreciation.

J'aime ce point de vue, comme caché derrière le mur de gauche pour observer l'architecture, les couleurs et la belle luminosité sur la tour. Un cadrage vertical bien fait.

Hi Daniel,
You chose your viewpoint very carefully on this one. The leaves frame this scene nicely. Walls and roofs show many surfaces, and together with shadows makes this richly detailed. And that little tower is an excellent main focal point.

hi daniel,
this is a lovely picture where the colours are superbly well saturated and very attractive. you have framed the scene well with the wall to the left and the branches to the right, and this also helps guide the viewers eye through the picture to the spire that reaches up into that wonderful blue sky.

Hi Daniel,

Love the exposure here, the lighting is so well balanced. The shadows are what drew me into the image, I find it to be a very interesting play of light and shade. The highlights and main subject stay in tact having vivid color and work magnificently against the blue sky. Impressive!

this buildings shot at exatly that angle gains a lot of interest. I like how you used the branches at the right side and the wall at the left to frame the photo and make the impression of some hidden treasure. beautiful colors and nice light management - the shadows of the trees on the walls are really pretty.
