This is a funerary monument dating from the Neolithic period, 3000 or 4000 BC. It's in very good condition and it's one of the many attractions that we can find in Serra d'Ossa, a small mountain in the Alentejo.
On the opposite side there's a little hole, just like a window, probably because it has been used later for some other purpose.

Excellent presentation of this neolithic stone monument.
Well placed with the big tree at the left and with the beautiful cloud lines in the right upper corner.
Best regards, Paul

This is a fine photo with several nice features. The ancient monument is amazing and fascinating and it is very nicely situated by the large tree. The clouds are beautifully shaped and the little black dog plays an important supporting role. It has become a very importanmt part of the composition. The strong and vivid colours are very attractive too.

great composition to make us aware how long and rich history has Portugal.
The presentation of this funerary monument is superb(greenery vs.blue sky makes magnificent and strong contrast!)
Here additionally I like the black dog running across the scene and making it more lively and pleasant.
Have a nice day

As usual, an interesting place and a beautiful note!
Did you know that mountain with almost the same name exists in Greece.
Village Ampelakia on Mount Ossa was famous for dyeing with the famous plant erythrodamon (rizari), whose roots gave that scarlet red color, which held the virtue of not fading because of the sun and time!

The little black dog (yours?) seem to be happy in his new playground, on the ancient premises around the monument, Ana.
Funny, but he gave goiod scale to the whole. Lovely nature out there, all green. A marvelous taken outdoor's shot.
Bom fim de semana,

Superb arrangement with three nice subjects, the stone monument, the old (olive?) tree and the black dog. All in excellent light and superb contrast against beautiful blue-white sky.
Very well done

A fascinating image, and an interesting explanation. The framing and colors enhance the striking neolithic stones with beautiful greens, the white of the clouds of deep blue sky all come together to make such a powerful image Well done, Congrats

I have seen plenty of those in Ireland. They are so challenging to photograph as they are so simple but you have done a great job presenting it in a pleasant light and colors and with some natural context. The dog adds so much life here! I like it!

You're capturing well this landscape by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the stone architecture as the barn in ancient times and the meadow with ups and down, beautiful green layers. The whole is harmonized well by a good arrangement and beautiful color combination. And, the running black dog draws out a good impact as well as the big tree at left side.
