After a long time, I'm posting another photo of the old "Convento dos Monges". This is an old convent completely in ruins, situated in Serra de Monfurado, between Santiago do Escoural and Montemor-o-Novo. It was founded in the beginning of the 18th century by a group of Hermits of St. Paul who lived in the area. Damaged by the earthquake of 1755, it was definitely abandoned with the extiction of the religious orders in the 19th century.
Today it's in ruins but some remains of its magnificence can still be found there.
The roots of the trees and the ivy is invading the convent - this is a detail.

A very beautiful, intimate picture.
Nature will always take over ruins and try to return them to their natural state.
Your shot relies strongly on the compositional positioning of the leaf and it works perfectly.
Have a lovely day,

I love ruined places and when nature begins to take over and slowly pull them apart, their is something forlorn and sad about them, but yet they off the most beautiful moments to capture. This is a very nice detail, the placement of the vibrant leaf gives a feeling of new life being born from old. Very nicely considered scene.

nice the close up view of the 'new borned' leafs that try to grow up on the trunk of the tree.Excellent the created datails as the light management.

An ethereal close up image of the ruin that has been overgrown by the elements, but I really love the drama showing that we really can't stop nature of this most unusual subject. That little touch of lively green leaf adds a strong point as effective scale reference.

I strongly believe that you are of the few photographers in TE who can show us such details in artistic manner...kudos for that!
I love this image...the green leaf stands out as if its a symbol of hope...amidst the old walls and roots which create a nice BG..

The two green leaves are evident of life returning to the abandoned edifice.
It was taken with great contrast against the dark walls and big roots.
Nice applied inspite of low light upon this corner.
