Photographer's Note

Here's another photo of the Fortress of Juromenha, but what we can see here is a little church devoted to St. Francis of Assisi, not the one of my last post. It's one of the three churches we can find within the walls - it's a 17th century church and I've always liked the contrast between the big decorated bell tower and the simple facade of the church .
This fortress is situated very close to the Guadiana River and also to Spain and what we see today date from several different periods.It has played an important role along its history, especially during the Moorish period.
