Photographer’s Note

The Alentejo Province is a region of wide plains to the south of the Tagus River (Rio Tejo). In the heart of this region, at a distance of 130 km from Lisbon, lies the city of Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Part of the town is enclosed by ancient walls and has been preserved in its original state, aswell as its monuments dating from various historical periods. It was known by the Romans as Liberalitas Julia, and vestiges from this period (walls and rooms) and the monumental imperial temple (Diana's temple), still remain. During the barbarian invasions, Évora was under Visigoth rule. It occupied a space defined by a Roman enclosure that had been modified. In 715, the city was conquered by the Muslims.
Évora was wrested from the moors by the Christian Knight Geraldo Sempavor in 1166 and flourished as one of the most dynamic cities in the Kingdom of Portugal during Middle Ages. The court was resident here for long spells and Évora became the scene for many royal weddings and a place where many important decisions were made. Particularly thriving during the Avis Dynasty (1385-1580), it was formerly a major center for the humanities.

Giraldo Square, in the center of the city, in the square where King Duarte built the Estaus Palace which even today maintains its Gothic look, the fountain and St Anton's church are from the 16th century.

Evora is really a very nice city with its buildings white whit yellows band. I recognize this beautiful place which I visited.

O Lightroom é um programa fantástico mas para aplicações em páginas da net para pôr as fotos a passar em slide...
Concordo com o Aires em que as cores estão saturadas, mas a luz esta muito boa bem como o pov.

bem interessante mesmo essa foto, o conjunto arquitetônico lembra bastante os das cidades históricas daqui de Minas Gerais, no Brasil. Achei curiosa as torres do sino da Igreja, parecem que são de épocas diferentes do resto do conjunto da Igreja, reparou isso?

It seems to get much from him to this place, so colorful and eye-catching.

The view is to form a pretty special membership between the set of clouds and the facades of buildings. Beautiful colors, and no doubt a sensible balance in the frame.

Your composition and POV are great here placing the fountain in the foreground with the church and buildings in the background. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and DOF. Just a little lens distortion here causing the buildings to appear to lean to the center of the shot. Your can take out some of the lens distortion is PP.
This is still a very appealing photo.

Une scène vivante où les lumières sont parfaites au niveau du sol, par contre le ciel me semble peu naturel. Dommage que la déformation soit si forte au niveau des bâtiments. J'aime le mariage des couleurs.

Outra imagem belíssima deste lugar. A nitidez está notável! Concordo com o que já disseram, que a saturação está aumentada, mas achei bonito assim, deu um tom especial ao céu. Esta discreta convergência em direção ao alto está um charme a mais.

Olá Gonçalo, excelente composição desta famosa praça. A fonte ficou perfeita ali encaixada no pedaço de céu que sobrou. Boa vista da Igreja e belíssima pintura no céu. Pena a carrinha em frente à igreja...felizmente está lá para trás.
