Photographer’s Note
Hi dear TE friends,
Last Weekend, I was in the Alentejo Region and I decided to enjoy the regional food and to visit the Evora city. It was a very dark and rainy day but for the moment the sun had appear and I took this picture in the Public Gardens.
In the WS you can see a different perspective of this Public Garden
I hope you like it !
Have a nice day.
The Palace of D. Manuel is what remains of the great palace of S. Francisco. It was from the Convent of S. Francisco that has developed the new and magnificent Royal Palace in Évora. It started to accommodate the cut and where took place the marriage of infant D. Peter, son of D. John II, and D. Constance Manuel.
Only the gallery sixteenth - the Palace of Checkers -, dated the first twenty of the XVI th and integrated in the cycle Manueline-Mudéjar, was saved from destruction, to be used as a store of war in the struggles for independence (16409.
Transferred in 1865 to the Municipality, the Palace of King Manuel was used as an archaeological museum, theater and space for exhibitions, until the collapse of 18.02.1881 that destroyed the roof.
After the disaster, the house was adapted for public shows - the theater Eborense, after the works, directed by the engineer eborense Adriano de Sousa Monteiro, which altered the original outlines, adding it a second floor with metal frame, the taste of the season.
In March of 1916 was destroyed by a fire, and remained so until 1943, when it was recovered by the National Monuments, which restored the property and rescued the essential parts of the old flag
Today, it performs the function of "living room" of the city have held official receptions and ceremonies of cultural, exhibition and other initiatives consistent with its dignity

Bonjour Aires

I like the 3 red horseshoe shaped arches on the building which together with the red benches, contrast well against the blue sky. Good sharpness & framing. Tfs!

Good evening Aires
The side light mixes perfectly well with that facade of traditional art. The frame allows a lot to be seen from all around and the details are very sharo. As for the colors they are really cool.

Bonsoir, cher Aires,

Quite an interesting building, with a very peculiar style of architecture. It seems both ancient and new at the same time, but your interesting note explains the reason. I like how the white of the facade contrast with the beautiful blue sky.
Very often when the rain stops you have an interesting light.

Nicepalace in the park... Light was optimal so colors look naturally saturated, sharpness is correct. A simple but interesting compo.
