Photographer’s Note

The castle of Estremoz is the result of the restoration of the magnificent Palace that King D. Diniz built for his wife, Queen Santa Isabel.

From the palace gardens and swimming pool surrounded by battlements, you have superb views over the city of Estremoz.

This exposure was shot from The 3 Crown Tower of the Castle

The Medieval Castle, today, is the Rainha Santa Isabel inn.
This view was taken from there when the first sunrise rays horizontally start crossing the Alentejo fabulous landscape while the inner city was yet practically in the dark...

Ola Rui, mas que foto espectacular, tem uma vista limpa e nitida, ate perder de vista deve ser ai uns 12 ou 15 kilometros nao?, de veras muito lindo de ver, tambem gostei de como pensaste em tirar a foto apartir deste angulo e escolhendo o que me parece ser o despertar do dia, ou seja escolheste a melhor luz que ha no dia para este tipo de fotos, muito bem e obrigado por mostrar esta beleza, um abraco, Joao Salas

Olá Rui!
Muito bonito ver esse campo recebendo os primeiros raios solares e a cidade toda na sombra, cria um belo conttraste. A arquitetura das casas é muito bonita também!

Olá Rui,
me gusta el fantástico efecto que dan los primeros rayos del sol que iluminan el paisaje con tonos cálidos mientras el primer plano con el castillo y las casas está todavía en la sombra, con un ambiente más frío.
El contraste es muy bonito y forma una imagen muy atractiva.
