Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken in Alentejo, in the southern part ofPortugal. I was driving on a secondary road to a place called Pias.
The weather was terrible all day, but late in the afternoon, almost at sunset, the skies turned out this colorful and dramatic. I pulled over by the road side and walked across a few meters in the rural fields to compose this picture without the electric wires and poles by the road.
I had to hold the camera with my arms high in the air because of the tall grass. I took several pictures before I could take one with the horizon leveled and the composition just as I wanted it.

Hello Miguel,
An original and beautiful view of the amlentejo, usually photographed with nice blue skies...
Fantastic colours and the trees in profile provide a lively note.

What a fabulous sky. The tinges of red look like a painting, and I love the trees which are also touched with red light. This must have been a remarkable scene and you have captured the atmosphere well.

Hello MIguel,
A dramatic sky that depicts sunset!
It seems that a bonfire is up above which fades into the original blue!
The red cast on the grass and trees is wonderful and again fades to the original color green.
A nice composition with an interesting POV.

impressive picture, mainly because you have only a little place for the earth, and so the sky with its big coloured and dark clouds is dramatically making pression.

Thanks to the front page, I discover your gallery tonight!
I am completely in admiration in front of your technical skills. Your gallery is an Ali Baba's cave! Colors, shapes, fabulous light... I have an immediate crush on it!
Here, the landscape is outstanding, with this fabulous light, and the intense contrasts that screw the attention. Ir's magnetic! And very dynamical with the clouds... Wonderful!
