A sunflower field in the South of Portugal on June.

Sunflower is an annual plant native to the Americas that possesses a large inflorescence (flowering head). The sunflower got its name from its huge, fiery blooms, whose shape and image is often used to depict the sun. The sunflower has a rough, hairy stem, broad, coarsely toothed, rough leaves and circular heads of flowers. The heads consist of 1,000-2,000 individual flowers joined together by a receptacle base.
Sunflower seeds were taken to Europe in the 16th century, where, along with sunflower oil, they became a widespread cooking ingredient. Sunflower leaves can be used as a cattle feed, while the stems contain a fibre which may be used in paper production.

Ola Rui,
ohh what a splendid 'flower sea' is this! I like the endless sun flowers that extends until the far end of the horizon and lead-in the eye to the puffy sky.Excellent the quality of the image, with the clarity and the sharpness of the plants to are superb.

Fields of sunflowers always offer good ideas, and are beautiful to photograph, but here the charm of the field than you have found a beautiful sky full of small clouds, which are unlikely to see you around! Congratulations!

The huge field of sunflowers dominates the frame nicely, and in a distance my eyes can spot a few lonely trees!
A well balanced composition with strong contrasting colours, beautiful cloud formations...

And you posted several good photos I see!
I like a lot this one, a classic one, for the sense of infinite space and distance and of course for the beauty of this infinite field of sunflowers. The photogram is divided according to the 1/3 rule and so having a fine harmony, the sky is quite interesting and above all the yellow colour of the flowers is so appealing!
