The National Highway N2 can be considered the Portuguese equivalent of Route 66 in the Middle East gives rise to Trás-os-Montes in the bridges do not cross the Mississippi but rivers such as the Douro and its Valley, a world heritage site, and on which the path become in motels any roadside Inn.
The National Highway N2 crosses Portugal from top down, and got his start in the Km 0 in the city of Chaves well there in the North, and ends at Km 737 in the city of Faro along the Atlantic Ocean, after having lost snake-like Amazon by hills and valleys of the interior of the country forgotten by auto roads
The National Highway No. 2 marked an era and led the story, has therefore a story by count, the section covering the route that connects the Almodôvar and São Brás de Alportel was sorted in 2003 as recognition by the Heritage Highway, as this value via rich and surrounding heritage.
