Photographer’s Note

Hi there,

I am giving you a few day break from my polish series, because yesterday I started going through my pictures from my holidays in Portugal. I spent a lovely week in beautiful weather and scenery, which you can see on the photo ;)

ABOUT THE LOCATION
Ponta da Piedade is a headland to the south of Lagos, surrounded by fascinating rock formations in crystal clear seas. The sandy coves of Praia de Dona Ana and Praia do Camilo are sheltered and tucked away between high sandstone cliffs. The point is dotted with unusual sea caves which can be viewed by boat.

Lagos, itself an attractive town with a new marina area, also contains historical buildings worth taking a look at, and its fortifications date back to the 8th Century in places.

I was very lucky withe the light, which was like this only for few minutes. I'm personally very impressed with this place, so I would like to know what you Guys think about it?

Dobro vece iz Cuprije.
Samo priroda moze da stvori ovo ...
Odlicna fotografija, dobre boje i ostrina snimka.
Pravi trenurak snimka.
Ovo kao da je neki stari umetnik naslikao svojom cetkicom.
Neka novi dan bude suncan, Paja.

Sea of a superb green with a good choice of long exposure

witaj Darku,
musze przyznac ze z dnia na dzien twoje prace sa coraz lepsze. Nie jestem zwolennikiem fotografii typu hdr ale twoje prace sa naturalne i dopieszczone jak nalezy:) Tutaj mamy swietne niebo, bardzo ladny efekt na wodzie, a same skalki ostre jak brzytwa! Swietna praca Panie kolego.

This is so dynamic with such contrast between the sky, water and rock. Furthermore the movement of the water is unusual and the rock is so sharp. Plus the light is stunning.

We are impressed by your photo Dariusz,
I think that with that tecnique you mentioned you have done a high jump ahead. The place is of course very appealing and as you say you were lucky to find such a fine light, but I suppose there is a good deal of skill in pp too.
I'm really impressed by the sea: it's scaring!

Dobrym pomys³em by³ d³ugi cza, tym sposobem piêknie wychwycony ruch fal. Kolory i ostro¶c doskona³e.

A beautiful composition of this rocky seascape. The slow shutter speed has captured the swirling waters perfectly. Wonderful colours in the sea and surrounding rocks and excellent clarity to bring out the textures in the rocks to perfection.

Czesc Darku,
no teraz zaluje ze nie kupilem od Ciebie tego filtra.
Aczkolwiek znajac siebie to nie chcialo by mi sie tam rozkladac statywu. Wieksza mam motywacje zeby uzywac statywu i byc kreatywnym w Irlandii -bo musze tak bylo np przy moich ostatnich zdjeciach z Mayo.
W Portugalii natomiast slonce bylo tak urocze ze nie chcialo mi sie za bardzo kombinowac -ale widze ze bylo warto, troche wiecej wysilku a efekty moga byc tego warte.
Wspanialy efekt dlugiej ekspozycji.
Bardzo ciekawy kontrast pomiedzy roznymi odcieniami niebieskiego koloru -tego na niebie i na wodzie.
Oczywiscie doskonaly POV: piekna kompozycja,
Gratulacje! Warto bylo tam jechac nawet dla tego jednego strzalu!

Beautiful view between the rocks on to the sea.

Far from Ireland or Poland this time ! It looks like an spectacular place, very wild. I love your focus that gives a great DOF. I love the effect on the water too and the warm colours of the cliffs. The sky is great too. A great shot ! TFS.

We stayed a week in Lagos some years ago and we were impressed with it too, especially the dramatic rock formations. You found an excellent POV so our eye follows all the pathways between the rocks. The swirly sea is well rendered thanks to the slow shutter speed. The colours are stunning too.

Some of the best coastal scenery in Europe isn't it? Very rugged, and the water looks rough but adds atmosphere to the image. The clouds are impressive too.
