Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken on a large albeit deserted beach in south-western Portugal.
There is no big story to the picture, except that I enjoyed a most wonderful afternoon there and that the play of light and shaddow, when the sun began setting, was absolutely breathtaking. In the distance the braking waves could just be heared while the bright sound of water dripping from small holes was everywhere. The air was warm but clean and when the stones slowly turned from yellow to brown and to black later that evening, a magical atmosphere could be felt all over the place.
Since unfortunately I had to scan the picture, it lost a bit of the original depth of the colours, nevertheless for the play of light on the stones in the foreground, the middle of the picture and its background I still find it interesting enough to be worth posted. Any comments however are greatly appreciated.
