Just about six kilometres east of Cape St. Vincent, the most southwesterly point in mainland Europe, lies the town of Sagres in western Algarve. This is the delightful harbour of Baleeira at Sagres, taken from just below the boat yard and with the boat-launching rails disappearing into the clear waters of the harbour.
This photograph was taken only a few metres from my last picture and you can again see the red and white striped lighthouse guarding the entrance to the harbour in the distance.

Une bonne photo, colorée et lumineuse, bien composée dans ce format carré.

Wonderful sky and beautiful sea for a short cruise. Fantastic light and colours and nice holidays atmosphere. Were you also near Lagos? I found the landscape there the most beautiful.
Nice to look at.
Warm regrads still from France MAlgo

its funny to read Malgo's critique - is there a place on this planet Malgo HAS NOT visited lol
lots of cool elements in this packed photo.
gotta love the lighthouse in the bg, the yellow boat on the far right, the varying shades/tones of blue/green in the water and the bright warm lighting...whats not to like!
soothing of the soul is what's going on here.
lovely exposure and lighting here John
Have yourself a fine weekend

The water is so attractive, it was the first thing I noticed as it moved from aqua to deep blue and, of course, emphasises the good, thirds composition. The slipway is well placed and acts well as a guide to the viewer. On the down side (sorry) it took me a while to find the focal point (maybe it's just my poor eyesight) because of all the crafts spread randomly about. I was pleased to see the lighthouse which, although small, it well positioned.
Have a great w/e,
Len is taking me off somewhere for the w/e as it is our wedding anniversary. No idea where we're going!

an image that just typifies a southern Europe holiday. Clear blue skies and seas with white tops and of course hot sunshine. Idyllic and beautiful.
Enjoy the weekend - B.

Hello dear John,
Very nice capture; a perfect lecture for "how a good pov should be" !
I like much the shades of greens and blues in the sea and the red "dots" within the compo.
Simple but nice framing.
TFS and best regards
Haved a nice weekend

beautiful work. Nice summer feeling. I like the gradient of color across the water. Very good use of some lines in the foreground to enhance the geometry. Boats and rocks make a nice touch.
Very well spotted,

seems a windy day, those days clean and fresh, in fact the details are very clear even on the islands at the bottom, wonderful sea colors that shade up to emerald green, perfect cutting and very beautiful light...

Not sure how I missed this one. It was well worth opening the TN as it has some delightful elements. The stripey lighthouse and other small touches of red are lovely against the gorgeous colours of te sea and sky. The water looks a little choppy which adds some texture and movement to the water. The rails perfectly lead the eye into this gorgeous harbour.
Great quality as always from you.
Kind Regards, Ann
