Praça Infante Dom Henrique, a photo from Algarve, South

Photographer's Note

En cherchant sur Google Earth le nom de cette place , je me suis aperçu qu'elle avait sérieusement changé d'aspect il y a peu . Avant son réaménagement , de beaux arbres s'y trouvaient . Ils ont été abattus et l'ambiance est maintenant très minérale , mais aussi aquatique , avec ce bassin à jets qui permet d'obtenir d'intéressants reflets de l'Igreja Santa Maria (à droite) , et de l'Igreja Santo Antonio (au centre) . On a aussi plus à gauche (mais pas sur ce cliché) une statue de Henri le Navigateur (Infante Dom Henrique) , puis l'ancien marché aux esclaves .
Sur le muret un vers du grand poète et écrivain portugais Fernando Pessoa : " Valeu a pena ? Tudo vale a pena se a alma não e pequena ."

La lumière n'était pas extraordinaire , alors j'ai fait pour le mieux . En WS , une autre vue .

A good view of this interesting looking town - good composition and colour along with good use of the reflections. Maybe just a bit over sharpened (the white fringe around the buildings).

Wow! Stunning clarity of the water allowing us to see every individual stone on the bottom, in addition to the partial reflection of the bg building. Good sharpness & fantastic warm cold color contrasts between the amber & left & the blue sky. Impeccable sharpness! Merci et bonne journée.

Hello Dennis,

You're capturing well this port town by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the elegant church and houses with white wall, and clean water in port. The whole is harmonized well by a good sense of arrangement and color depth, and the reflection projected to the water draws out an additional good effect.

Deux intéressantes photos de ce bel endroit. Malgré la lumière peut-être un peu moins bonne, je préfère quand même le post principal pour la délicatesse de ses reflets. Très jolie composition.

Two beautiful photographs! Each one is lovely and I'm not sure which one I prefer!

Despite what you say, I think the lighting in both of these pictures is excellent - or, at least, you have certainly made the very most of what light you had.

I agree that the reflections in this picture are more impressive, sharper and clearer but the reflections in your workshop picture are also very beautiful.

The composition of both pictures is excellent and the colours and exposure perfect. Exquistite details and sharpness as always!

And, of course, an interesting note!

The light was not great, but I enjoyed seeing the reflection in the shallow water, on the pebble bed. The architecture is typically Portuguese & stands out well against the bluish sky. Nice work!

Bravo pour cette superbe photo et pour toute la série du Portugal... Cela donne vraiment envie d'y voyager. La lumière est bien rendue, le reflet et les couleurs sont superbes, beau boulot.
