Photographer’s Note
Penedo is a small village in Central Portugal, where the pace of life is still very cool... Much more sheep than people live there but, on ceremonial ocasions, many visitors from the neighbour villages come to take part on the feast and share the delicious food :)
These community ties are reinforced by religious rites and the procession is mandatory. Some ladies, by their age, health condition or social standing, don't go in the procession, they stay at the windows, decorated with bedspreads, throwing petals to photographers ;)
In a WS you may see a shot of a friend of mine of this particular moment.

I like this photo a lot, Beijo. Lively & very natural, and the flower petals almost look like sunspots, especially on her face. An interesting angle too. All in all, a creative and sympathetic study of the old lady. Nice work!

Miguel.

Olá Beijo,
Excelente atmosfera captada aqui!

Very nicely done. Wonderful POV. She looks either happy or hopeful that you will take the picture quickly and go away.
Oh, I do like the workshop photo so much too! I like it because it shows the festivity of the moment with all the on-lookers who stand aside for the photographer to finish.

Hi Beijo,
What kind of procession is it? From the date (April 17) I presume it was held during Easter...
In my country we have a similar procession (throwing flower petals by little girls) but due to Corpus Christi which takes place in June... On Easter Monday there is a tradition to pour water on other people and indeed it happens in the whole country ;)
