Photographer’s Note

One of the most picturesque rail lines in Portugal - Corgo rail line, named after the river Corgo.
Starting at Regua city, this narrow-gauge line climbs through hills and mountains, surrounding Corgo river, and ends in Vila Real city.
The line is equipped with 3 modern rail buses - 'trains', consisting of 1 wagon each. But, despite this modern fleet, the landscapes and the railroad itself are still keep this atmosphere of 1900s, when the track was built.
In weekends, CP (Portuguese railways) even run there a historical train, consisting of an old diesel locomotive and some authentic wagons.

Line length: 25 km
Height above sea level: 350-425 m
Train speed, average: 20 kmp
Line built in: 1904
