Viana do Castelo is one of the cities most known about the north of the country. Watered by the River Lima and Atlantic Ocean, his historical helmet keeps excellent architectural samples as Chur Matriz.

Chur Matriz of Viana do Castelo - Sé Cathedral

Chur Matriz of Viana do Castelo, Sé Cathedral, it is a church fortitude constructed in the XVth century in the Long Historical Institute do Minho. His frontage is flanked by two big towers crowned by battlements and in her he emphasizes his beautiful portal with sculpted scenes of Christ's Passion and sculptures of the Apostles. It is a Romanesque temple with plant of Latin cross and his interior is three ships separated by arches supported on props.

Hello Charo,
Une très belle façade, avec un bel éclairage mettant en valeur la couleur de la pierre.
Très beau contraste sur ce ciel bleu. L'ombre en bas de la façade est génante pour l'oeil.

Bonsoir, mon amie Charo,
Pas facile de faire entrer cette superbe cathédrale dans le cadre ! Passionné d'architecture, c'est un véritable plaisir que de contempler les différentes photographies proposées.
L'architecture pour une partie semble s'apparenter à un aspect militaire (tours crénelées).

Superbe façade de cette cathédrale qui me rappelle de bons souvenirs, car j'ai passé par là en 2005.
Beau contraste de ces anciennes pierres avec le beau ciel bleu du Portugal.
Jolie compo bien cadrée.

Hello Charo,
A very different style of Cathedral than what we often see and think of in Spain, Italy, or Portugal. The towers reminds me much of the castles in France, this arcitectural style must have been widespread throughout Europe in the XVth Century. Excellent view of this towering Cathedral...

Your low POV gives this cathedral a very imposing look. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and detail. The area of shadow creates nice contrast to the sunlit areas of the shot. The people give us a nice sense of scale for the building.

Unas fotos preciosas de esta iglesia fortaleza. Solo voy a elogiar la destreza y la calidad con que haces las fotos de toto lo que te propones, por que concretamente el tema de las catedrales, iglesias y monumenmtos religiosos admiro el valor arquitectónico pero no el por que fueron concebidos y construidos.

Cosas mias. Tal vez soy distinto y voy a contracorriente.

good POV for that facade with a marvelous blue sky above the church. I like the good balance of light and shadow and also the pleasant sharpness. The window workshop would be worth an own posting.

Magnifique facade de cette belle Cathédrale. La qualité d'image nous laisse bien voir les détails de cette belle architecture. Beau contraste entre la pierre et le ciel d'un bleu pur. J'aime bien les vases de fleurs en avant-plan et les personnages qui donnent de la vie à la photo.
