Photographer’s Note

The Lima River is born in the environs of Xinzo de Limia, in the source of the Talariño, situated in the abutments of the mountain range of S. Mamede. Directing itself for the southwest, looser the fast declivity of the intermediate course, that we can consider finished in the estuary of Vez, in the continuation it which finds rest in great albufeiras, after becomes more regular the last dam, in Refojos; the part calmest of the passage starts there, directing itself slowly, to serpentear in the plain, for the sides of Viana, until emptying in the Ocean. In the culminating relives that surround the zone, before which the height sensation too much is not accented by the level of the river, little above of the proper sea, does not have edges that they wound and not even the unexpected nudez of this or that granite block that arises here and beyond in the way of a dense and luxuriante vegetation is chocking.
