Photographer’s Note
Just so I don´t get acused of being sexist, I'm posting a photo of a female greek supporter, at the European Football Tournment Euro 2004, being held in Portugal.
This was taken by the river Douro, where they were partying.
The greeks were very happy before the game, and though I didn´t understand a word they said, they seemed pretty confident.
At this time I can say they were right, since they beat the Checks, one of the best playing teams in the tournment IMO...
So now Portugal is playing the final against Greece.
I believe this is historical, since it will be the first time a tournment opens and closes with a match between the same two teams, Portugal vs Greece, in this case.
They say when two good teams colide on the grass, the chances are 50/50... well, the greeks had their 50 when they beat Portugal in the first game...it's our turn to beat them now!
Nevertheless, this has been a wonderfull tournment, with lots of joy and fun, and very very few problems.
I never cared much for football...guess it's just won another fan...
P.P. ..hmmm, quite a bit ...

The fan is beautiful and so is the picture. Perfect focus, brilliant colors and very good expression captured. The background is unfortunately a bit distracting but I guess you didn't have the luxury of a studio and the DOF could only do this much... Good luck on Sunday!

Very nice portrait of this fan!
I am very jealous of Greece and Portugal in the final, I WISH England were there instead, but never mind. I will support Portugal on Sunday because when I was out there a couple of weeks ago to support England, all the Portugues people I met were all so nice and friendly and I loved driving around the beautiful national parks between Lisbon and the Algarve.
Well done Greece, you have already over-achieved your expectations, good luck to Portugal.
