The Igreja de Santo Ildefonso is an eighteenth-century church situated near Batalha Square. Completed in 1739, the church was built in a proto-Baroque style and features a retable by the Italian artist Nicolau Nasoni and a façade of azulejo tilework.
Approximately 11,000 azulejo tiles cover the façade of the church, which were created by artist Jorge Colaço and placed in November 1932. The tiles depict scenes from the life of Saint Ildefonso and figurative imagery from the Gospels.

A fine capture of this church decorated in traditional Portuguese style. I like the point of view looking up the steps and the light and colours. Good rendering of the architectural detail.

Excellent POV Daniel and exposure. Interesting to note that the azulejo tiles are relatively recent. At least they will last longer than any fresco. Regards. Klaudio.

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. J'aime cette céramique blanche et bleue que l'on voit partout à Lisbonne. La contre plongée donne beaucoup d'ampleur à l'église et utilise parfaitement le ciel comme arrière plan.

Fantastic angle to shoot this from, taking in the best of the shape and size of the church, as well as the light which illuminates the side so well. I am not at all familiar with this style of decoration, it is very beautiful. It reminds me of willow pattern which was popular in ceramics around the time of my nan. It looks beautiful be decking the walls like this, A very majestic building, and a great shot,

che belle le rifiniture di questa chiesa, le piastrelle sono delle bellissime pitture nel classico bianco e blu.
Mi piace la tua inquadratura, è bello vedere tutto l'insieme.

Fantastic frontage of the church decorated by the beautiful azulejo tilework. The details and the contrast of the red wall with the blue sky also is attractive. I liked your inclusion of the stirs in the FG.

this presentation of the old picturesque church is captivating. You chose a very effective point of view and created an excellent composition that draws the viewer immediately. I like the dynamism, the details and the colours. The textures show the building's age and are fascinating. You achieved fine clarity all over, the shadows add drama. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great afternoon,
